I am a seasoned, NN/g certified UX practitioner who’s been consulting, designing, and teaching professionally in the digital design space since 1999.

Along the way, I’ve helped build and lead a wide range of projects, teams, and companies, including my own consultancy, staff-augmented and embedded teams, large agencies, and multi-departmental in-house teams.

I also developed and taught multiple classes through UCLA Extension’s UX Certificate program, where I taught and mentored several hundred learners.

In addition to my professional work, I organize local UX events from time to time in the greater Philadelphia area where I live and teach and mentor in UX design. In my free time, I tend to gravitate towards copious amounts of reading, digital art, photography, martial arts, and music production.

Background

My work experience includes discovery, research, strategy, design, and team leadership for complex digital and IRL experiences across dynamic & interactive web applications, native apps, responsive web design, OTT/streaming, social TV, second screen, FUI (film/fantasy UI design), and POS systems. Industries, verticals, and categories range across enterprise, B2B, and B2c / DTC, from tools and productivity to eCommerce, health care, entertainment, and more. I also began mentoring in 2014 and then, in 2015, began teaching online through UCLA Extension.

Professional goals and interests include: advancing the UX craft and profession through both client and my project work; consulting for new and existing startups that aim to address and serve their users’ needs; building and working with exceptionally talented, cross-disciplinary teams to tackle complex UX problems, and helping craft the next generation of designers through UX instruction and mentorship.

The common thread I’ve always woven throughout my work has been tocreate better experiences with engaging narratives and interactions acrossrich, meaningful digital products to solve real needs while telling impactfulstories that ultimately improve the human experience.

I worked with Jedi on a few projects on the Disney account, where he consistently showed solid knowledge of the best practices and tools of IA/UX. He is also very professional and personable, building productive relationships with the rest of the team. I would definitely work with him again.

Jedi was my instructor at a UX Design Mentorship class. His instructions led me through the essential steps of the UX Design Process, giving me clear feedback as I progressed. Thanks to his mentorship, I have a clear understanding of the process and the documentation required at each stage.
