A friend and colleague of mine, whom I've come to know from my work with The Do LaB, will be speaking next week in Lisbon at the Lisbon Lectures series.
Heather Shaw of the VitaMotus design firm here in Los Angeles, CA has been making a big splash in recent years in a number of fields. From car design with Audi/Volkswagen, to environment, stage and installation art design, to fashion to an award-nominated stage for Amon Tobin, she is a designer's designer; truly gifted.
All her friends and I, here in LA, are wishing her well on her trip over.
Here's a bit of the info from the site about the event:
Seven international experts and leading practitioners of design, architecture and other seminal disciplines share their insights in the form of keynote speeches. Drawing in engaged audiences, the Lisbon Lectures are an essential part of the biennale’s programme, providing valuable input that broadens and enriches the ongoing reflection. The Lisbon Lectures seek to bring the audience closer to the leading concerns of contemporary creative thinking, through the riveting keynote addresses of prominent international figures with a significant, widely recognized body of work.
